Is Minecraft getting a fourth dimension?
Yes. The official recap opens with the announcement that The Sift is coming to vanilla Minecraft next year. The broadcast was in September 2026, so that means 2027. Xbox Wire confirms Java and Bedrock.
At 0:10, the recap switches to Dungeons II. That game launches September 29, 2026. Keep that cut in mind when sharing the clip. Its combat footage doesn't show what you'll be able to do in your vanilla survival world.
What's in The Sift?
The Dungeons II reveal names Meadows and Carapace and shows a realm with new creatures, hazardous blocks, and changing tides.
What can you bring back to your base? That's still open for Java and Bedrock. There isn't a confirmed list of mineable blocks, crafting recipes, or farmable resources yet.
Will I need a new world?
Mojang hasn't explained how existing Java and Bedrock worlds will get access. Keep your main save and carry on building; there's no announced requirement to start over.
The portal location and activation method are also unknown. You don't need to rebuild your portal room or stockpile an item from a guessed recipe.
Why are people already showing a Sift portal?
Some videos show fan-made versions. Mielon's The Sift, for example, has its own Ancient City portal and creatures. Those mechanics need that mod installed.
Check the video description for a mod name, Minecraft version, and loader. If you want to try that version, use the mod page; if you're waiting for vanilla, use the release dates.
