When can you play The Sift?
September 29, 2026 in Dungeons II. Sometime in 2027 in Minecraft Java & Bedrock. These are two separate releases.

Dungeons II arrives September 29, 2026
That's the release date in the official Dungeons II FAQ. On September 28, it is still scheduled for the following day.
If you're planning to play with friends at launch, check your platform's store for the time in your region. The date alone doesn't tell you the local start time.
Java and Bedrock get The Sift in 2027
Mojang's September 26 announcement gives a year, with no month or day yet.
September 29 is the Dungeons II launch. It won't add The Sift to your normal Minecraft installation or survival server.
Will there be a snapshot or Preview?
A Java snapshot or Bedrock Preview date hasn't been announced. Development footage shows work in progress; there's no test build named in the announcement to install.
When testing opens, use a separate world or a copy of your save. Keep your main save out of experimental builds until you're ready for the risk of changes or broken compatibility.
Why does a mod page show an earlier date?
Fan mods follow their own schedules. Mielon's The Sift is already listed on CurseForge, with mechanics created by its author.
If you want to try a fan version while waiting, check the mod's game version and loader. Its upload date doesn't change the 2027 vanilla release window.
