Usage stats are your choice

Usage stats are off by default. If you allow them, the live site will try to record page views, language switches and successful calculations. Those records do not include names, email addresses, entered coordinates or full URL query strings.

Nothing is sent unless you choose “Allow anonymous stats.” Accepted records have a 30-day retention target and an hourly cleanup job; failed runs or a backlog can delay deletion.

What stays in your browser?

Your stats preference is saved on this device. When stats are on, we save random codes to distinguish visitors and browsing sessions. The visitor code uses localStorage and the session code uses sessionStorage. Turning stats off clears both codes.

MCSIFT does not add separate third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If you load a video, the YouTube player may show ads.

Links to other sites

Source links take you to other websites with their own privacy policies. Our hosting provider may process request information to serve pages or block attacks. MCSIFT’s usage stats table does not store IP addresses.

YouTube videos

Videos connect to YouTube only after you choose “Load YouTube player”. No video, YouTube thumbnail or player is loaded beforehand. The player uses privacy-enhanced mode at youtube-nocookie.com, which does not mean YouTube collects no data.

Once loaded, YouTube/Google receives request information such as your IP address, browser details and the MCSIFT site origin, and may store or read information on your device under its own privacy policy. Videos do not autoplay. Removing the player does not delete data already sent to YouTube. Your MCSIFT usage-stats choice does not control YouTube’s data handling.
