Divide by 8 going in, multiply by 8 coming back
From the Overworld to the Nether, divide X and Z by 8. From the Nether to the Overworld, multiply both by 8. Overworld X 800, Z −400 gives Nether X 100, Z −50. Leave Y out of the calculation.
Why does my portal link to the wrong one?
Nearby portals can affect which one you link to. Use the result as your X/Z target, then check the other portals and choose a safe height in-game. The calculator doesn't read your save or guarantee the link.
Decimal results keep the exact calculation. The tool uses the default 8 to 1 scale and doesn't support custom dimension scales.
Does it work for The Sift?
No Sift coordinate scale has been announced. If you're playing a Sift mod, check the creator's rules before applying Nether maths.
